Assistant Management couples must consist of two (2) qualified candidates who have a passion for working with seniors. Single applicants will not be considered for this position. A proven customer service background and strong management experience is necessary to assist in the management of the day:to:day operations of our independent retirement communities. Also, management couples are required to live on:site which is a great opportunity to shape the culture of our communities and help our residents feel safe and secure in their surroundings.
Salary Package and Benefits:
At Hawthorn Senior Living we have a very attractive salary package for our Assistant Manager teams. The salary package is broken down into the following categories:
We offer a competitive salary starting at 60,000 per year for our Assistant Management Team. However, each person will be paid their own individually portion of the aforementioned salary.
As this is a live:in position, the accommodation provided is a one bedroom, one:bathroom apartment with washer and dryer in the unit. In addition to the apartment benefit, the Assistant Managers are also provided with all utilities paid including basic cable, free wi:fi, unlimited parking, and as well as all meals included. In addition, we offer relocation assistance and encourage all applicants who are open to relocation .
Healthcare and Other Perks:
We offer the opportunity to elect healthcare (includes prescription benefits), dental and vision, as well as company paid life insurance including accidental death and dismemberment and Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP).
Our Assistant managers work together five days per week with two consecutive days off and a rotating on:call shift. We also offer paid time off including holiday, vacation and sick time.
Complete, hands:on training is provided for Assistant Management Teams, however, previous experience in a similar role is an asset. People management experience is preferred as our communities employ approximately 30 to 50 employees. This position is designed as a training and development role and the hope is that our Assistant Management Teams will aspire to become Managers of their own Gracious Community within a short training period.

What is Independent Senior Living?
Independent senior living properties do not provide healthcare, healthcare personnel, assistance with activities of daily living or 24/7 skilled nursing. Instead our independent residents benefit from dining services prepared daily by our executive chef and kitchen staff and served by our waitstaff. We also provide housekeeping with linen service, transportation to appointments and errands, activities directed by our communitys activity coordinator, social programs, access to exercise equipment and classes, beauty and barber salons, maintenance services, emergency alert systems, live:in managers, and many more amenities.
