Purpose of Job:
The HR Consultant is responsible to act as the initial and primary contact for all Human Resources related matters including policies and procedures clarification for all Scotiabank Group Employees at all levels. The incumbent will act as the first point of contact for all HR related inquiries coming from various business lines within Scotiabank, responding to them by utilizing their expert knowledge, ability to navigate, access and obtain information from the resources and tools provided.
Key Job Accountabilities:
:Product Knowledge of the services offered. HR Employee Services is responsible to respond to queries and provide prompt/satisfactory resolution and responses to queries related to the Banks HR policies, services and processes..
:Taking full responsibility / ownership for the resolution of all employee/ pensioner related inquiries received through the 1:888 line, local line, email, mail, fax and/or another alternative delivery channel
:Assist in the growth and the development of HR through effective trending mechanisms, to identify and escalate any trends and/or issues in training, communication, system limitations, and/or streamlining opportunities and the need for policy review to identify the diversity within the different work environments within BNS.
:Adhere to the Bank's Guidelines for Business Conduct, privacy agreement, and internet policies/procedures. Maintaining full confidentiality of all employee and client information at all times

:Excellent communication skills, both oral and written and the ability to be empathetic to employee's needs
:Demonstrated ability to effectively deliver a positive employee experience to reduce the administrative down time of employees
:Strong analytical skills and a high degree of judgment/organization and decision making skills to diffuse any potential complaints/escalation
:Results focused with the ability to work in a fast paced environment with volumes dictated by employee demands and needs
:Strong team building skills to ensure co:operative working relationships with co:workers, employees and business partners
:Must be flexible to adapt positively to change
Education and Other Requirements:
:Undergraduate Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or Business or pursing education in related field or related experience
:French fluency (written and spoken) is required (CHRP designation is considered an asset)
:Employee Services is a 12 hour work environment with operating hours from 8:00 to 8:00 p.m. The encumbents should expect to work to a rotational shifts of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
:The position is for a bilingual HR Consultant : the successful applicants must be fluent in French (verbal and written communication skills)
